Telegram Scam - Part-Time Job (Personal Experience)
How I got scammed for INR 8.5 lakhs (Life Time Earning)
My age is 32, I hold a Master's degree (MBA TOPPER OF MY BATCH) WORKED IN 2 BANKS AT DM LEVEL.
I worked in a bank for 7 years and I handled 100s of 1000s of customer requests related to frauds happening with them daily via OTP, Phone Calls, Links, Paytm, and various other methods.
I was not new to this thing I already knew everything about how these frauds happen, how innocent people lost their hard-earned money and I used to guide my customers, my close ones, and every other person I know.
I had to leave my job due to some health and personal reasons. I was jobless for about 1.5 years and was eagerly searching for a job via various platforms then ONE day I received a message on WhatsApp regarding a part-time job opportunity in which I needed to like the video on YOUTUBE and they would pay me RS 50 for each like.
For the trial, they asked me to like 3 videos which I did and they asked me to join a telegram channel and asked to add the receptionist and send her the screenshot so that she could make the payment. Her name was REBACCA a fake name. So I sent her the screenshots and she sent me the money. I was happy that this was genuine.
She told me I would be provided with 20-25 tasks daily needed to send screenshots and would earn RS50 for each task and if I skipped the task I would only Rs. 20 for the next. I didn't get the catch and completed the tasks and next time she only sent the half money for the completed tasks then I asked her and she said I skipped the missions in which I was asked to invest money.
It is where the Real scam started. They asked me to invest RS1000 and showed the return of RS 1500 at first I refused then she showed me the authentic sites and proof that they had invested there and made the money.
So I invested Rs 1000 and they gave me Rs. 1500 with 15-20 mins and this game continued and in next they asked me to invest Rs 5000 and the return was RS 8000 which foolishly I did and they trapped me with the thing that now If you want this money back you need to invest Rs 28000 and you will get RS 40000 + return RS5000 with profit and so on with next RS78000 investment and then RS125000 I invested in hope to get my 5000 back ( how stupid, foolish, idiot, dumb person I am )and then they said to get to the link of the trusted site and asked to 4 people (created a group with me of course their people) who said have invested same money. and then they gave the instructions and said we will get our back if it shows profit. but it turned out RED. Of course, some settings said I clicked some wrong options.
And they said to get that RS 200000 back I need to pay a tax of RS 145000 AND SO ON RS245000 RS 350000 and this sums up to RS 850000. and I asked them if this was all I had and they asked for more money and at that point, I knew that I got scammed. How foolish, stupid, idiot dumb I was, OR WAS I SO DESPERATE TO GET THE JOB? OR I GOT HYPNOTISED OR BRAINWASHED OR WHAT. STILL finding the answers.
I filed a cyber crime complaint and a bank complaint but all in vain as they said I transferred all this money to their account no OTP was shared but I did IMPS in the hope of getting my previous money back, why didn't I stop at 25000, 75000, 124000 WHY?
It's been almost 1 year since this incident and I cannot recover from this shock, incident my foolishness'.
WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF MY MBA MY BANKING CAREER OF 7 YEARS WAS ALL WASTED IN JUST 2 DAYS.
I have not listened to anybody, BUT YOU SHOULD,
MORAL of the story (not qualified as I made this blunder ) But don't trust anyone (unknown number/person) offering jobs on any platform unless verified and DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT invest any money as no JOB asks for money. Please keep your hard-earned money safe.
I have lost all my savings and earnings. I am writing this so that Anyone who reads this doesn't make the same mistake, or blunder as I DID.
